Enso Gallery in Half Moon Bay

"For a few nights of each month, the full moon in the Mojave desert is bright enough to read a newspaper by. The moon licks the desert with its silvery tongue and the rocks seem to come alive, the plants move and dance in the shadows. On such nights I can be found (or lost) tramping through the desert, the gravel crunching underfoot, a tripod on my shoulder and a bag of heavy lenses on my back. These images were taken with a medium format camera using only moonlight in long exposures. They are printed large so that you can more easily enter the mysterious desert world where they were captured.”

Works by David Baillon
A presentation of in-progress experiments inspired by the rich coastal environment during his residency in Half Moon Bay. This new artwork groups coastal-born objects which are brought together through time, observation and experimentation.
David Baillon currently lives and works in San Francisco. He is a multi-undisciplinary and artist plasticien working in various mediums, ranging from analog photography, found objects, painting, collage, sculpture and installation. David’s work blurs and merges boundaries between materials and ideas. The work explores the various languages of materials, drawing inspiration from nature, literature, current events, history, anthropology and syncretism
